Selection Committee
Selected by Leading Voices in Architecture and Urbanism
The final selection will be made by a distinguished panel of architects and urbanists with extensive international experience in design and mobility infrastructure.
Seven recognized architects and urbanists will evaluate applicants.
The committee will assess each finalist's portfolio, motivation, and potential to contribute to the future of architecture.
Cristiano Ceccato
Director and Aviation Sector Leader at ZHA in London
Cristiano leads Zaha Hadid Architects' aviation sector, having established and developed the practice's presence in the global aviation market over the past 15 years. With more than 25 years of international experience, he has directed major airport projects all around the globe. Since joining ZHA in 2008, Cristiano has played a key role in the development of the practice's aviation portfolio, working across complex projects and international teams to deliver some of the world's most ambitious airport developments.
Michel Rojkind
Founder, Rojkind Arquitectos
Architect and urbanist, Michel Rojkind founded Rojkind Arquitectos in Mexico City in 2002, a practice working across architecture, urban strategies, and experiential design. His work has been widely recognized internationally, with projects across Mexico and the United States and features in leading global publications. Michel has taught and lectured at institutions around the world, such as UPenn, Harvard and IAXX Barcelona, and has served as a juror for numerous international awards and competitions. He is a member of the National Academy of Architecture and was elevated to Honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in 2025.
J. Pablo Serrano Orozco
Founding Partner, Serrano Monjaraz Arquitectos
Architect, educator, and founding partner of Serrano Monjaraz Arquitectos. Educated at Universidad Iberoamericana, The University of Texas at Austin, and UCLA, Pablo has taught architecture at Universidad Iberoamericana since 1992. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with some of Mexico's most renowned architects and has been a frequent lecturer and guest professor at universities and professional forums across the country.
Marianela B. Castro de la Borda
CEO, Director & Co-founder, FANCYSTUDIOLIMA
Architect with a Master's degree in Housing and Urbanism from the Architectural Association in London, Marianela leads urban design, planning, and research projects at FANCYSTUDIOLIMA. She was the curator of the Peruvian Pavilion at the 16th Venice Architecture Biennale and was awarded second prize in the AECID "Ideas for Urban Life" competition in 2022. She is also a Professor of Architecture at the Universidad de Lima. Her work bridges academia, the public and private sectors, and local communities to advance sustainable urbanism through architecture, landscape, heritage, ecology, and public space.
Graciela Torre
Architect and Urbanist, Founder & Director of TAW Architecture and TAW Lab
Architect and urbanist, Graciela Torre leads TAW Architecture and TAW Lab, an international practice exploring architecture and urban strategies through mobility, innovation, care, and sustainability. A graduate of the University of Buenos Aires, she continued her education in Austria and the Netherlands. Her practice spans projects across different countries, scales, and cultural contexts. She has also taught at architecture schools in Buenos Aires, Nantes, and Paris.
Karel Van Oordt
Senior Project Coordinator, Eurocities
Urban development specialist with more than 12 years of experience advancing sustainable cities, governance, and infrastructure across the public and private sectors. Karel specializes in project management, strategy, and innovation that create lasting public value. His work has been recognized through international awards, including the UN Shelter Academy on Climate Urban Resilience and multiple first prizes in international urban design competitions.
Jean-Charles Content
Head of Architecture, Asia-Pacific, Artelia Airports
With nearly 18 years of experience in aviation architecture and planning, Jean-Charles Content has led major airport projects across Asia. As Head of Architecture for Asia-Pacific at Artelia Airports, he oversees multidisciplinary teams working on airport terminals, masterplans, and aviation infrastructure. His portfolio includes award-winning and competition-winning projects, with a particular focus on large-scale airport planning and terminal design in China.

What is the difference between the 1PAX Fellowship and an internship?
An internship is supervised training in a specific role. The Fellowship adds an independent research project, mentorship, and far greater professional autonomy — and it is always paid.
Is the Fellowship paid?
Yes. The remuneration corresponds to the salary level of a young architect in France.
Do I have to complete a research project?
Yes. Research is an integral part of the Fellowship — each Fellow develops an individual research project alongside their professional work at 1PAX.
